Denver awards medals to 21 first responders for “extraordinary service”

Denver public safety officials lauded two heroic saves by emergency personnel as they awarded meritorious service medals to 21 first responders this week.

The medals, given by Denver Public Safety Director Murphy Robinson, are for individuals who have distinguished themselves for exceptional service above and beyond the call of duty.

Mexico and the U.S. will face off Sunday in the final.

 

Miniature horse and skunk are euthanized after testing positive for rabies in Adams County

Colorado health officials have confirmed a second rare case of rabies in a livestock animal this year, reporting Friday that a miniature horse in Adams County was euthanized after testing positive for the virus.

A potential culprit was identified when a skunk that was “acting strangely” was found on the same property, according to a joint news release from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Department of Agriculture. The skunk tested positive and also was put down.
